That Darn Cat (1997)

Plot: In a small Massachusetts town, two bumbling criminals mistakenly kidnap a maid, thinking her to be the wife of a prominent businessman. D.C., short for Darn Cat, is an alley cat who, while looking for his nightly snack, stumbles upon the kidnap victim, bound and gagged in a shed. The kidnap victim scratches a plea for help on the back of her wristwatch and puts it around the cat’s neck. Patti finds the watch and links it to the missing maid. Playing amateur detective, she enlists the aid of an FBI agent, Zeke, who has been assigned to the case. Patti and Zeke follow D.C. through tight openings to track down the captive.

My friend cuts himself because he wants to look emo, he started by only putting a bandaid and marker on his arm and i didn’t think he would go through with he. he had stopped, but has started again, should i put eyeliner on him and say, there now you look emo stop cutting urself or do i need to get the counselor
PS the code we have for him cutting himself is his "cat"
now its winter break and i only have his phone number, should i do something to keep an eye on him (text every few days) or should I resume helping when school comes and relax for my break
Okay wow. I used to "cut" when I did it it was called "GOTH" not "EMO". First thing first People who say "it is wrong" need to stop judging! What about people with metal in their faces and tatoos all over their bodies. Do some research into Native American culture. Indians used to suspend themselves with metal hooks to prove that they were a "MAN". It is in human nature to suffer to prove yourselves, to God, to your classmates, to your parents or whom ever. It isnt right but it isnt wrong either. It is objective. Second I understand it hurts you as his friend cause you think it will lead to something else. It might, but I highly doubt it. If you try to force him to get help he will resent you and you will cause more damage then good. Just be there when he needs someone to talk to and stop judging him. That would be the best thing to do.

Cutting yourself is something serious. The fact that he’s doing it to look "emo" isn’t good. You can look emo by dressing a certain way and listening to emo music. No one should ever start cutting themselves for no reason. When people have a problem and cut themselves so the physical pain over powers the emotional pain, they are considered sick. You need to talk to him and tell him this isn’t the way to look emo. What he’s doing is serious and if nothing changes, you should tell someone you really trust to talk to him and get him to stop.

As someone who has ‘cut themselves,’ in the past, I say tell your friend to stop being a little b*tch and hurting himself just for a stereotype. Tell him that, if he has no real reason to be that upset, that it’s just for attention and that it’s honestly annoying.

I used to cut myself, you need to remember that people who cut themselves are really just in a lot of pain and don’t know how to deal with it. Do not take this lightly, this is really serious! you should talk to him about it. just a simple "how have you been?" or "are you ok?" or even "why are you cutting yourself, you know you can talk to me." will work. just remember to listen, be sympathetic, and try to talk about other things too!

&& if he refuses, tell him you will tell a counselor and get him help.
If he is doing this to try to look a certain way, && there is no emotional purpose behind it, threaten him with going to help
