How many slams will Justine Henin retire with?
How many more slams will Justine Henin win before she retires?
She’s 27 and look pretty fit but for some reason I don’t see her winning more than 4 more… not even 3! She claims she’s content with her accomplishments but just want to win Wimbledon which I just don’t see happening as long as the big hard hitters like Sharapova, Venus, and Serena are on tour,,,,, they’re just too good on grass… TOO GOOD!
Maybe they will get an injury or bounced out in an early round so she doesn’t have to face them!
She has 7 now…. how many more years do you think she will play and how many more slams will capture?
She lost to the great Serena Willims in the 2010 Australian Open final and her slam finals record isn’t so hot… she’s 7-5 in grand slam finals
But yea, how many more slams for henin?
I think she can win 1 a year, maybe 2 in one of the next 5 years if Serena is injured or playing poorly and Sharapova doesn’t come back on fire and the young up in comers dont raise their game!
I feel maybe 3-4 more giving her 11 slams
To be honest, I think you are slightly doing a disservice to Henin here. Yes, Serena played well, but let the record reflect that in the Australian Open final, the aspect of Henin’s game that let her down was match fitness – she played a great second set and it was obvious for all to see that by then end of the third set she could barely move. This of course is due to here near three years out of the game. A few more tournaments under her belt and I reckon the result would have been quite different.
I reckon Henin will realistically win another few Slams – maybe two or three. I would like to see her win more but because of age and strength of others at the top, I am not so sure.

Justine came back because she found her passion for tennis once again. Not only that, but she also came back because of that missing piece she has in her trophy cabinet, and that is the Wimbledon title. Wimbledon is the only slam she is focusing at the moment and she aims to win it for the first time this year. When Justine aims for something, she works incredibly hard and pushes herself to an extent in order to get it. And when she works hard, she becomes dominant and almost impossible to beat. She clearly proved it in the Australian Open. She kept on fighting even though she had a muscle torn on her left upper thigh. However, the only let-down is that Justine makes continuous errors and serves a great amount of double faults. If she lowers the errors and the double faults, then there’s not a shadow of a doubt that she will be back winning a number of tournaments.
With that said, I am confident that she will win wimbledon, as well as a few others this year. She claims that she will continue playing tennis until the 2012 Olympics. I predict that she will have 12 grand slams in total when she retires.

i am intrigued by her comeback. i used to watch her and others played before she retired and she was good. but this time round she is aggressive, and the determination beyond description. why i say that? cos she is clearly out of shape, making incredible amount of errors and very nervous. and yet she made it to final. if you would go to youtube and look at the way she played in 2003-2007, she was fit, confident and made very few errors which wore down opponents effectively. and with this in mind once she gets back in shape and more confidence, she will be an incredible force. a few slams more are well within reach.

good question… i believe justine henin will win 3 – 4 more slams before she call it quits permanently..
also we have to keep in mind she only played her second tournament back reaching the final and also the brishbane final.. she lost to the two best players at the time.. clijsters and serena….
while serena was on a big hot streak in australia her most favoured grand slam defying defeat the last 2 round she played before the final… serena was just too solid..
the second thing.. many people do not know this.. but henin has changed some of her game.. she is trying to serve more aggressive… so thats when double faults come into play… she is also trying to hit everything in the baseline and on the rise…. so this added aggression is also causing her to make more errors….
henin has not had much time to get accustomed to this type of playing… and i have to say once she does get more in this rythm… the bigger hitters that u are mentioning.. sharpova, venus, even serena.. if justine gets more and more accuracy hitting on the rise like this… she can win wimbledon.. but she needs more time with it..
henin is very determined once her game works for her more and more.. she will get even more control of the game.. and will be relentless..
i say henin will win wimbledon this year… she might even win the french open and wimbledon back to back..

Frankly, it was bad for her to come back assuming she would have the same success as Clijsters, and even Clijsters was just lucky winning the US Open against Serena. Serena wasn’t 100% coming into the final of the US Open which is why Clijsters was able to take her down, but Serena was not the same person that showed up at the AO against Henin. This time Serena was 100% or at least 99% there and when that happens, she’s unbeatable. Someone posted about Henin not having enough matches in her belt, but that really doesn’t matter because when Serena’s on, she is ON period. She’d better get her ranking high enough before Wimbledon or she might end up facing Venus early during the rounds. If someone claims that Henin has a better head-to-head with Serena, well Henin is like 2-7 against Venus so she’s one person you don’t want to meet early on grass. Even Serena is better on grass besides Venus. Henin’s only chance of winning another slam is on clay and maybe US Open
